Workshop Photovoice 22/03

Photovoice is a participatory research method in which photography plays an important role. In this workshop you will experience how to use photography as a research method. After a short introduction you will go out and take pictures of 'your inner world'. Afterwards we will discuss the meaning of these images as a group and come to a shared story.

This workshop is led by Tijs Van Steenberghe. Tijs is a researcher at EQUALITY//ResearchCollective and connected to the department of Social Work at the HOGENT. He is also a photographer and social worker. He already guided several photovoice projects and is looking forward to working together on the domain of Museum & Psychiatry Dr. Guislain.

Photovoice is een participatieve onderzoeksmethode waarbij fotografie een belangrijke rol speelt. In deze workshop ondervind je zelf hoe je met fotografie aan de slag kan gaan als onderzoeksmethode. Na een korte introductie ga je zelf op pad om foto’s te maken over wat jou raakt. Nadien bespreken we in groep de betekenis van deze beelden en komen we tot een gedeeld verhaal.

Deze workshop wordt begeleid door Tijs Van Steenberghe. Tijs is onderzoeker aan  EQUALITY//ResearchCollective en verbonden aan aan de opleiding Sociaal Werk aan de HOGENT. Daarnaast is hij fotograaf en sociaal werker. Hij begeleidde reeds verschillende photovoiceprojecten en hij kijkt er alvast naar uit om samen op het domein van Museum & psychiatrie Dr. Guislain aan de slag te gaan.
